- Students are to design and animate (using Adobe Flash) a pilot episode/trailer for either:
- the computer game they created in the previous units
- or a retro style childrens TV program along the lines of Peppa Pig, The Flumps, Bagpuss, or The Clangers.
Topic 1Students will be taught how to draw, edit and convert basic shapes into symbols (graphics) in order to create a simple cartoon character. They will produce a mood board for their cartoon.
Topic 2Students will learn about the timeline, key frames and how their graphic symbols can be animated using shape tweens. They will produce a storyboard for homework that plans their simple cartoon.
Topic 3Students will learn how to export their characters as movies in order that they can be reimported into layers alongside images to produce a larger movie. They will also see how to produce a motion tween. Homework will be to work on their cartoon and make progress.
Topic 4Students are introduced to sound and animated text so that they can complete the narration for their cartoon. Homework will be to work on their cartoon and make progress.
Topic 5Students will be shown how to export their finished movie and how to publish it (e.g. Frog Page in E-Portfolio / Link submitted via Set Work) Homework will be to review their movie.
Topic 6Movie improvements and Showcase. Extension: Add a button to a title screen which when pressed starts the movie.
